Critter Encounter: Winter Edition

Do you know what animals do during the winter?

The weather gets colder and the days get shorter: winter is here! Animals do amazing things to survive the winter. Some migrate, some hibernate, and many adapt and stay active during the cold months.

Your family will have a chance to go behind the scenes of the Lilly Center’s fish lab and learn more interesting facts about how Indiana’s critters survive winter. Join us at 9:40, 10:10, and 10:40 a.m. for Critter Tales. Other stations include a craft and a critter game!

Critter Encounter: Get up close and personal with the animals that live at the Lilly Center. Students will be able to see and touch some of Indiana’s critters. Also, get a tour of the Center’s aquarium room–a look behind the scenes!

Critter Tales Storytime: Interact with critters while hearing a story about how wildlife survives the winter months. Learn about the secret world under the snow and how animals live safely through the winter.

Hands-on project: Students will be able to make their own winter habitat for an animal. Recreate winter animal habitats and participate in hands-on science experiments.

Critter Treat: After learning all about what animals are doing during the winter, students will get their own icy snack: snow cones!

Snacks are provided, so reserve your spot today!
