Expedition: Birding on the Water

If you like birds and you like boats, then you’ll LOVE Expedition: Birding on the Water!

Join the Lilly Center and the Kosciusko County Soil & Water Conservation District for this annual rafting event held on the waters of Grassy Creek. Lifelong birding enthusiast, Nathaniel Wise, will provide expert insight and discussion about local bird species as participants drift peacefully down the river. Commonly spotted species include herons, waterfowl, songbirds, among other native birds that depend on the waterways.

Participants should plan on wearing clothes that can get wet as they will be in rafts for the majority of the event. Binoculars are also highly recommended for the best birding experience! Light snacks will be provided as well extra bottles of water. This event is perfect for both beginners and experienced birders, so we hope to see you there!

This event is underwritten by City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility, DePuy Synthes, and Zimmer Biomet Foundation.
