Stories & STEM

Once upon a time, in a small lake community…

It might not sound like the most riveting start to a story, which is why you’ll have to join us at the Warsaw Community Public Library to hear a better one! This summer, the Lilly Center is partnering with WCPL to host Stories & STEM, a morning containing a hands-on science activity paired with a read-aloud story about fossils or the underground. Families who choose to complete a survey during the event can enter a drawing to win a copy of the book.

The featured book will be Fossils Tell a Story by Yu-ri Kim, and we will have examples of fossils for students to examine. They can be paleontologists for a morning, as they use tools to complete a dinosaur dig of their own and even create their own fossils to take home!

We know summer days can often be hard to fill, so let us make your job a little easier! Lilly Center staff will be present to help assist students, but we ask that parents stay for the entirety of the event. No RSVP is necessary.

This event is in partnership with Warsaw Community Public Library
