Reflecting on the value of water, creatively expressing those reflections.
Each year, the Lilly Center Art Contest invites fourth-through-12th-grade students from all school districts in Kosciusko County to submit their creative depiction of our local waterways. Artists with winning entries receive cash prizes and the privilege of having their artwork on display in the community and featured in a calendar.
A 2020 calendar, featuring the 2018-19 winning entries, is available for pick-up at Grace College, 200 Seminary Dr., Winona Lake, Ind. You can see the 2018-19 winners and honorable mentions on our Facebook page!
2019-20 Lilly Center Art Contest: Life at the Lake
Do you have artistic students, or an artistic child or grandchild? Fill out the entry forms below and start creating! This year’s theme, Life at the Lake, should show humans or animals interacting with the lakes: water sports, nesting ducks, and more. Winning pieces will be used to create a 2021 calendar, and four of the winners will be chosen at random and used to create beautiful bookmarks.
One entry per student. Students may use any medium, but the artwork must be one-dimensional and should not be folded, mounted, matted or framed. Do not use sand, glitter or material that may flake. A fixative must be sprayed on work using pastel or charcoal. Artwork should be neither smaller than 8”x10” nor larger than 16”x20”. No artwork depicting invasive species (i.e. trumpeter and tundra swans are acceptable, mute swans are not) will be considered.
Entry forms must be attached to the upper right corner on the back of the entry.
Artwork is returned to students after the judging process, unless the artwork is a winning selection. Winning selections will be returned following display around the community.
You can find bookmarks and submission forms at the following locations. But hurry; when they’re gone, they’re gone!
