Expedition: Summer Foraging

The woods are calling your name…and your tastebuds!

Join us on July 25 for the second foraging expedition of the year led by Carrie Vrabel at the Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area. Carrie is a certified Wild Mushroom Identification Expert and will cover topics like flavor profiles, harvesting techniques, and how plant uses change as the season progresses.

Participants will learn how to correctly identify and forage edible plants that are in peak growth during the summer season, such as flowering plants, berries, and leafy species. Plan to wear comfortable, close-toed walking shoes as there will be light hiking throughout the event. Water and granola bars will be provided.

No prior experience is necessary for this event! We would love to see you there!

This event is underwritten by City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility, DePuy Synthes, and Zimmer Biomet Foundation.
