Swamp Stomp

No RSVP Necessary!

Calling all future ecologists…or anyone who still likes playing in the mud!

Upper elementary to middle school aged students are invited to join us at the Lilly Center on Wednesday, July 8 for an interactive hike through woods and wetlands in partnership with the Warsaw Community Public Library.

Along the way, Lilly Center staff will discuss soil science, native plants, wetland functions, and how all of these contribute to clean water. Students will have a chance to apply their knowledge through plenty of hands-on activities, such as viewing wetland soil profiles using soil probes and creating wetland models with natural materials.

Plan on wearing comfortable, close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty, as we will be outside for the entirety of the event.

Water literacy can begin at any age, so why not start now! This event will be a fun introduction to environmental fieldwork and encourage students to think about aquatic ecosystems on a deeper level.

This event is underwritten by Zimmer Biomet Foundation and DePuy Synthes
